It had been a week since André the Giant had turned on his longtime friend Hulk Hogan, and Hot Rod was looking for the answers the fans needed to hear. Hosting another segment of his Piper’s Pit wrestling talk show, Rowdy Roddy invited the Hulkster out to clear the air and explain to all the Hulkamaniacs what exactly went down between André and Hogan.

Maybe it was jealousy, brother, or maybe it was just André doing what was best for him, but it was still a crushing blow for the Hulkster to take. André was a close friend, but the maniacal brain of Bobby Heenan got in the middle of that and split it up like the continents did 200 million years ago. Heenan was the wedge that drove the friends apart by playing off of petty slights, and he pulled the wool right over André’s eyes, brother.

The loss of a friendship isn’t worth a Heavyweight Title, but the outright disrespect by André and Heenan was too much to ignore. The Hulkster had to stand up and fight the manipulations of Bobby The Brain, even if that meant taking a lost friend to the mat for the pinfall at WrestleMania III.
